Baptism & Confirmation
Usually given to infants, using water and trinitarian formulas, welcoming the child into the faith.
Confessions
Reconciliation (Penance): Confession of sins to a priest to obtain God's mercy and forgiveness.
Holy Communion
Holy Eucharist (Holy Qurbana): The central act of worship, where the faithful receive the body and blood of Christ; given right after baptism/chrismation even to infants in the traditional Eastern practice.
Anointing of the sick
Administered to those who are seriously ill or elderly to provide spiritual and physical strength
Matrimony
A sacred covenant joining a man and woman in a lifelong union.
Sacramentals
The Syro-Malabar Catholic Church shares the same seven sacraments as the wider Catholic Church, but administers them through its own unique East Syriac liturgical tradition, where the sacraments of initiation—Baptism, Chrismation (Confirmation), and the Eucharist—are traditionally celebrated together.
Important Information regarding Certificates:
No objection certificate is only provided to regular STSMCC attending parishioner on our Church register. So we kindly encourage anyone who has moved to and living in Bristol to complete the registration form and join our parish.
